How it works here
Endoscopy is done in-house, including for inpatients at the bedside. Cases that need an operation go to the surgical gastroenterology team in the same department.
When to see us
If it feels like an emergency — chest pain, breathlessness, fainting, sudden weakness on one side, uncontrolled bleeding — call 040 4699 9999 or come to the ER now; do not book and wait.
- Blood in the stool, black stools or vomiting blood
- Difficulty or pain when swallowing
- Jaundice, persistent abdominal pain or a change in bowel habit lasting more than a few weeks
