How it works here
Cataract surgery is done in the hospital's own theatres, with biometry, visual fields and OCT in the department. Diabetic patients are screened for retinopathy on referral from general medicine.
When to see us
If it feels like an emergency — chest pain, breathlessness, fainting, sudden weakness on one side, uncontrolled bleeding — call 040 4699 9999 or come to the ER now; do not book and wait.
- Blurred or worsening vision, or difficulty reading and driving
- A yearly eye check if you have diabetes
- Sudden loss of vision, flashes, floaters or a painful red eye: come the same day
